Tetbury Lions Club is a local Cotswold charity that has been making a difference through fundraising and community service for more than 50 years. We are a friendly group of men and women who are passionate about helping others and supporting our local community wherever we can. Whether it’s assisting local individuals and families, supporting community projects, or helping those in need further afield, we believe that even small acts of kindness can have a big impact.
As part of Lions Clubs International, one of the world’s largest service organisations, we are connected to a global network dedicated to helping people and improving lives. Our motto, ‘We Serve – We Care’, reflects everything we do: offering practical support, friendship, and compassion to those who need it most.
Our Lions Club welcomes people from all backgrounds, cultures, ages, abilities, beliefs and identities. In keeping with the values of Lions Clubs International, we believe that diversity is our strength, and we are committed to creating an environment where everyone is treated with dignity, respect and friendship. We encourage anyone who wishes to serve their community to join us and make a difference together.
Our Club was founded (Chartered) in 1973, and Malcolm Philby, one of the original members, is still an active member of the club. Our activities include regular support for the local schools and food bank, the annual Christmas and Easter Raffles. We raise funds in many ways, but our principal fundraiser is the publication of the monthly Tetbury Advertiser, where you can read all about our activities and social events. Better still, why not join us on the first Wednesday of the month at the Priory Inn, London Road, Tetbury. Meetings start at 7.30pm
